4. WCMultiShipping Service (wcmultishipping.com)
– Purpose: Plugin registration and license validation; free-trial label generation and quota management; fallback label downloads; product usage and reliability statistics; optional deactivation feedback.
– Data sent:
– Registration: The email address submitted during setup, site URL, whether carrier settings already exist, and a persistent installation identifier. License-related requests also include the license key where applicable.
– Free-trial label generation: Setup email address, selected carrier and label format, and the carrier request needed to create the shipment. Depending on the carrier, this includes sender and recipient names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers, parcel weight and dimensions, delivery service and pickup-point details, shipment references, and carrier account/authentication fields. WCMultiShipping forwards this request to the selected carrier and returns the carrier response, label PDF and remaining trial allowance.
– Label download fallback: The carrier label URL when a direct download fails.
– Usage statistics: A persistent, randomly generated installation identifier; event identifier and UTC timestamp; plugin version; major WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP versions; locale; Free/Pro package status; and whether a license key is present. Events describe installation observation, onboarding, carrier configuration and credential-test outcomes, rate previews, settings changes, Pro feature views/clicks, Pro activation where applicable, and label-generation success or failure. Event properties include the carrier, setup step, result/error category, package tier, generation direction and failure stage where relevant. These telemetry events do not include customer names, email addresses, postal addresses, order identifiers, carrier credentials or license-key values. The installation identifier is also sent with registration requests, allowing usage events to be associated with the registered installation.
– Deactivation feedback: Optional feedback submitted by the administrator.
– When:
– Registration is sent when the administrator submits the setup email; license requests are sent when the corresponding license actions are used.
– Free-trial generation requests are sent when an administrator requests a trial label, while an allowance remains.
– Fallback downloads occur only when direct label downloads fail.
– Usage events are sent automatically on activation, the first observed administration visit, and the corresponding plugin actions. Duplicate installation events are suppressed. Failed telemetry deliveries may be retried during subsequent administration visits or events.
– Deactivation feedback is sent only if the administrator chooses to submit it.
– Transport: Registration, free-trial label generation and telemetry requests use HTTPS.
