Tarvetus Discograph
v0.5.1 · by tarvetus
Albums and Tracks as proper WordPress content, with helper functions a companion theme can use to render real discography data.
About this plugin
Tarvetus Discograph adds Albums and Tracks to WordPress as native content types, so musicians can manage a full discography without a custom database or a page builder.
- Albums — title, subtitle, year, genres (taxonomy), description, concept, mood, influences, streaming links for seven major platforms, plus Featured/Latest flags and a manual ordering field.
- Tracks — linked to an album, with track order, duration, an MP3 upload, styles (taxonomy), lyrics, per-track streaming links, and an “excerpt” flag for homepage use.
- Optional Album field on standard WordPress Posts, for linking news/blog posts to a specific album.
- Built to be lightweight: native post types and taxonomies, the built-in editor and featured image for cover art — no custom database tables.
- All custom fields are exposed to the REST API via
register_post_meta(), so the data is usable by any theme or page builder, not just a companion theme.
Tarvetus Discograph works standalone with any theme. It pairs with the Sleeve theme for a ready-made discography site, but doesn’t require it.
