StoreCalm Connector

v0.6.0 · by kpdesigndk

WooCommerce uptime monitoring, checkout checks and email alerts via StoreCalm. Free local checks; cloud checks require an account.

About this plugin

StoreCalm Connector connects WordPress and WooCommerce stores to StoreCalm for uptime monitoring, checkout-readiness checks and email incident alerts. Free local store checks work without an account. Hosted monitoring requires a StoreCalm account and explicit administrator consent.

Check whether your store is reachable and whether a shopper can progress through an anonymous cart to checkout. Checkout monitoring stops before order submission and payment processing; it does not verify a successful live payment.

Monitoring features

  • Uptime monitoring: check store availability from outside your WordPress server.
  • Checkout monitoring: run checkout-readiness checks using an in-stock product URL.
  • Email alerts: receive incident and recovery notifications.
  • Free local checks: inspect HTTPS, software versions and telemetry status without an account.
  • Operational context: send signed heartbeats and plugin-update events after connecting and consenting.

Free plugin and hosted plans

The plugin is free. Local HTTPS, software-version and telemetry checks work without an account. The connected Free plan does not expire and requires no card: one store, availability every 15 minutes, email incident and recovery alerts, 30 checkout checks per UTC calendar month and seven days of detailed history. Paid subscriptions add frequency, history, payment-health signals and agency features. The hosted monitoring service is separate from the GPL plugin.

Privacy and consent

No telemetry is sent until an administrator connects and explicitly consents. Transmissions include site URL, WordPress/PHP/WooCommerce versions, plugin updates and heartbeats. Payment-health plans additionally send pseudonymous order status signals and aggregate counts. Customer names, addresses, card numbers and raw order identifiers are excluded. Scheduled transmissions use a bounded local queue and WP-Cron.

This directory build uses the standard WordPress.org update system. It does not contain an external updater or download executable code from StoreCalm.

The plugin settings, consent text and notices are available in English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Icelandic, Finnish, German and French. Translations are included in the plugin and follow your WordPress user language, falling back to the site language. The hosted StoreCalm dashboard and service website are currently in English.

External services

StoreCalm is operated by KP Design. The hosted service runs availability and checkout-readiness checks outside your WordPress server, stores their results and delivers alerts. These substantial hosted services require a StoreCalm account; the local checks remain free without an account or time limit.

Only after an administrator pastes a store license and checks the consent box, this plugin calls https://storecalm.com/api/connectors/activate with the license, site URL and a random activation challenge. The service verifies a short-lived proof automatically via the WordPress REST API or admin-ajax.php. The license and signing key are never exposed by these public proof endpoints. No verification file is needed. Licenses can be reused for the same store until revoked in the StoreCalm dashboard. Free and paid service limits are enforced by the hosted service, not by the license text. Once connected, signed requests send the documented telemetry to https://storecalm.com/api/connectors/{workspace}/{store}/events, starting with an immediate first heartbeat. Sites intentionally configured for our isolated staging service use equivalent staging.storecalm.com endpoints.

The service receives the server IP as part of HTTPS communication. Queue records are kept locally for up to seven days and trimmed to approximately 1,000 rows during scheduled delivery. Disconnect removes local queued data and stops future transmissions. Deactivation stops the scheduled task. Uninstall removes the plugin configuration and queue. To stop independent remote checks or erase cloud data, use the StoreCalm dashboard or contact support.

Compatibility

Verified fixture baseline: WordPress 7.1, WooCommerce 11.1.0, PHP 8.3.33 and Storefront 4.6.2. Simple and variable products, classic and Blocks checkout, desktop and mobile Chromium. Custom themes, gateway plugins and checkout extensions can need separate validation. Payment snapshots inspect at most 251 orders, exclude known offline payment methods and report incomplete coverage explicitly.
