About this plugin
Replio is an AI customer-support agent. This plugin adds the Replio chat widget to your WordPress site in one step: paste your widget key and save.
- 24/7 instant replies in 50+ languages, from your own knowledge base
- Reads photos and screenshots
- Logs complaints and hands off to your team when a human is needed
- One lightweight script, loaded asynchronously
- Choose where it appears: every page, only some pages, or everywhere except pages such as checkout or your account area
- Show it to everyone, only to visitors who are logged out, or only to logged-in users
- A “Chat with us” button: add the
[replio_chat_button]shortcode to any page, or link a menu item to#replio-chat - Privacy options: wait for the visitor’s consent before loading anything, and suggested privacy-policy text under Settings, Privacy
- Optional: tell Replio the name and email of logged-in users so your team knows who is writing (off by default)
- Site Health check that confirms Replio recognises your widget key
- Works alongside cache and optimisation plugins: the script tag carries the usual “do not optimise” hints
You need a Replio account and a website widget key. Start a free 7-day trial at https://replio.live and copy your key from the dashboard under Channels, Website widget.
External services
This plugin connects your site to Replio, a third-party AI customer-support service, to power the chat widget. It is required for the plugin to work, and a Replio account and widget key are needed.
What is loaded and sent, and when:
- On every page where the chat is enabled, the visitor’s browser loads the widget script from https://replio.live/widget.js and asks Replio’s servers (https://engine-production-2647.up.railway.app) for the widget’s appearance settings. If you turn on “Wait for the visitor’s consent”, none of this happens until consent is given.
- The first time a visitor opens the chat, the widget asks the geolocation service https://ipapi.co for the visitor’s country code (it is not requested on page load, and not at all if the country is set on the script tag). That request necessarily exposes the visitor’s IP address to ipapi.co (privacy policy: https://ipapi.co/privacy/).
- When a visitor uses the chat, their messages, anything they choose to share, and basic context such as approximate country and browser language are sent to Replio to generate replies.
- Only if you enable “Tell Replio the name and email of logged-in users”: the display name and email of a logged-in WordPress user are sent to Replio.
- The Site Health check, run by an administrator on the Site Health screen, contacts Replio’s servers from your server to check that your widget key is recognised. It sends only the widget key.
