RankSWAT SEO

v1.0.1 · by RankSWAT

WordPress SEO runtime for metadata, schema, sitemaps, robots, redirects, local fallback, and optional RankSWAT Platform connectivity.

About this plugin

RankSWAT SEO provides the WordPress execution layer for RankSWAT.

It can run local WordPress SEO features on its own, including metadata, structured data, sitemaps, robots controls, redirects, breadcrumbs, image SEO, local SEO, and technical diagnostics.

Site owners can optionally pair the plugin with a RankSWAT project. When paired, RankSWAT Platform becomes the source of truth for centrally governed audits and intelligence while the WordPress plugin remains the execution and local-fallback layer.

The plugin is designed so that public executable plugin updates remain managed by WordPress.org.

Core WordPress SEO features

  • SEO titles and meta descriptions.
  • Canonical URLs and robots directives.
  • Open Graph and social metadata.
  • Connected JSON-LD schema graph.
  • XML sitemaps, including optional News and Video sitemaps.
  • Breadcrumbs and BreadcrumbList schema.
  • Redirect manager and 404 monitor.
  • Image SEO helpers.
  • LocalBusiness / Local SEO support.
  • WooCommerce and selected third-party compatibility.
  • IndexNow support when explicitly enabled.
  • Technical SEO analyzer and rendered-output diagnostics.
  • Internal-link intelligence and link suggestions.
  • Role-based RankSWAT capabilities.
  • Import/export and bulk SEO tools.

Import SEO data from another plugin

The Migration page can detect saved metadata from Rank Math, Yoast SEO, SEOPress and All in One SEO (AIOSEO), including some inactive plugins whose data is still stored in WordPress. Supported metadata includes post titles, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, selected robots settings, focus keywords and supported Open Graph fields.

Migration is never automatic. An administrator must preview and explicitly start it. A read-only preview shows a sample of expected changes. Each import request processes at most 75 posts, supports continuation and preserves all existing RankSWAT values and source plugin records. Existing Rank Math site settings may be imported only into unchanged RankSWAT factory defaults.

The migration history shown by RankSWAT is a journal of import operations. Third-party audit runs, rankings, analytics measurements, redirect rules and 404 history are not claimed as transferred. Back up your database, compare metadata on staging and only then deactivate the previous SEO plugin. To avoid duplicate HTML SEO tags, RankSWAT keeps Shadow Mode until takeover is deliberately enabled.

RankSWAT Platform connection

Pairing with RankSWAT Platform is optional.

After explicit administrator connection, the plugin can:

  • report bounded runtime/capability information;
  • synchronize a versioned SEO rules manifest;
  • provide bounded WordPress site context, content inventory, bulk SEO state, and page content context to authorized RankSWAT workflows;
  • receive allowlisted management commands;
  • expose local fallback status if the platform is temporarily unavailable.

Remote write actions are disabled by default and must be enabled locally by an administrator.

The connector does not expose arbitrary PHP, SQL, shell, or filesystem execution.

Updates

Stable public releases are distributed exclusively through WordPress.org.

RankSWAT SEO does not provide a self-updater, does not modify WordPress update discovery, and does not change WordPress automatic-update preferences. Update checks, downloads, installation, and automatic-update controls remain owned by WordPress core and WordPress.org.

External services

RankSWAT SEO can provide local WordPress rendering/fallback features without connecting to RankSWAT Platform. Optional integrations contact external services only when the relevant feature is configured or explicitly connected.

RankSWAT Platform

When an administrator explicitly pairs this WordPress site with a RankSWAT project, the plugin communicates with the RankSWAT service at https://app.rankswat.com/.

Data may include the site URL, WordPress/plugin/runtime versions, declared connector capabilities, synchronized ruleset version, bounded content/SEO context requested by an authorized project workflow, and the results of allowlisted management actions.

This data is used for project synchronization, centrally governed SEO rules, audits/intelligence, runtime health, and authorized site-management workflows.

Connection is optional. The one-click authorization is domain-bound and short-lived. Remote writes are disabled by default.

Google Search Console and Google Analytics

If an administrator explicitly configures Google OAuth integration, RankSWAT can request authorized read-only Search Console and Google Analytics data for the configured account/properties. URL Inspection can also be requested for owned Search Console properties.

Google connectivity is optional.

Google PageSpeed Insights

When an administrator explicitly runs a PageSpeed check, the tested public URL is sent to Google’s PageSpeed Insights API. PageSpeed checks are optional and on-demand.

IndexNow

If IndexNow is explicitly enabled, URLs from this WordPress site may be submitted to the IndexNow API to notify participating search engines about published or updated content.

No optional external integration is required for local title/meta, schema, robots, sitemap, redirect, or local-fallback rendering.
