Pattern Paste: Block Patterns for Any Block Theme
v1.5.8 · by Jake Dickinson
64 Core Patterns plus 60 variations in your block inserter and 1 Designed Pattern with full motion. Native blocks, your theme's colours, nothing …
About this plugin
Pattern Paste Block Patterns adds two kinds of pattern to the block editor. Everything in it works fully: there is no licence key, no account and nothing held back behind a payment.
64 Core Patterns
Complete sections built only from core blocks: navigation bars, heroes, features, timelines, team grids, FAQs, testimonials, statistics, logo rows, tables, calls to action, post lists, footers, contact sections, pricing, steps, a 404 page and more: 64 patterns plus 60 variations, 19 of them Folio’s looks (below). Every other Styled look, with colours of its own, comes with Pattern Paste Pro. Find them in the inserter under Patterns, in the Pattern Paste Core category or their usual categories.
A Core Pattern states no colour and no font of its own. It uses your theme’s colour palette and typography, so it looks like part of your site from the moment you insert it, and it needs nothing from this plugin once it is on the page.
Folio, a whole site
Folio is a free Pattern Set: 4 pages (Home, Work, About, Rates and contact) whose sections share one design language. Create a new page and choose “Folio: Home” or any of its pages to start with the whole page in place, or insert its sections one at a time from the Pattern Paste Folio category.
The pages leave out the navigation and footer, because your theme already puts its own around every page. To use Folio’s, open the Site Editor, select your header or footer, and choose Replace: Folio’s navigation and footer are offered there, and set once they appear on every page.
1 Designed Pattern
Finished compositions with their own layout and optional motion, in the inserter under Patterns, in the Pattern Paste Designed category:
- Signoff: Three oversized statements travel in alternating directions above a stationary studio footer with editable brand, contact, navigation and legal details.
Every word, image and link inside a Designed Pattern is an ordinary core block you edit in place. Each one has two appearances: Designed, with its own palette and type, and Use my theme, which keeps the composition and takes your theme’s colours and fonts. Add, remove and reorder repeated items (people, questions, photographs, plans) from the block toolbar; Unlock layout releases the structure when you want to change it freely.
Built to fail safely
- Visitors who ask their browser for reduced motion get the resting state, always. Each section also has its own Motion setting.
- Without JavaScript every panel, answer and photograph is still there to read.
- Deactivate the plugin and a Designed Pattern’s inner blocks still render as ordinary core blocks.
The full library
Both paid plans of Pattern Paste Pro put every Core Pattern and Styled look in this same inserter, and the top plan adds every Designed Pattern, from https://patternpaste.com/pricing/. It uses the same block, so installing it takes over from this plugin and every page you built keeps working.

External services
This plugin does not connect to any external service. There is no licence check, no update check of its own, no analytics and no remote code, and every script, style and image it adds (Anime.js, the photographs, the portraits and the logo marks) is bundled and served from your own site. Copying an image into your Media Library reads the bundled file; it makes no request.
