Purpose: This service is used for transcoding media uploaded by users and verifying the API Key to ensure the plugin is authorized for use.

Data Sent:

When Data is Sent:

1. During media transcoding when the user uploads a video.

Purpose: This service collects analytics data when a user watches a video on the frontend. It helps track video performance, user engagement, and campaign effectiveness.

Data Sent:

1. IP Address

2. Author of the post’s display name

3. Browser version, name, and browser language

4. User Agent String

5. The operating system of the user’s device (e.g., Windows, macOS, Android)

When Data is Sent:

1. When the page containing the video loads.

2. When the user exits the page after watching the video.

Terms of Service | Privacy Policy

PostHog (us.i.posthog.com)

Purpose: This service provides product analytics for GoDAM’s own screens in the WordPress admin, and for the screens where GoDAM adds its media tools: the Media Library and Edit Media screens, the editors for posts, pages and other post types, the site editor, and the widgets screen. It helps us see how GoDAM is used and where it fails, so we can improve the plugin.

Data Sent:

1. Details about the site: PHP version, MySQL version, web server software, WordPress version, site language, number of active plugins, total number of plugins, and number of users

2. How these screens are used: page views, clicks (including the text of what was clicked), and errors

3. Session replays (recordings of what is shown on screen) and heatmaps (where people click and scroll) of these screens. They cover the whole screen, not only GoDAM’s parts of it. A name, email address, file name or video title shown on a screen can therefore appear in clicks and replays. The plugin does not send the admin’s name or email to PostHog as an identifier

4. The address of the admin screen being used, and an ID that PostHog stores in the browser

5. The IP address, and details about the browser and device, such as the browser, operating system, screen size, time zone, and the page the admin came from

When Data is Sent:

1. Only after a site administrator has clicked “Allow” in the notice shown on the WordPress Dashboard, or turned on “Help us improve GoDAM” on the GoDAM Help page. Nothing is sent before one of these, and connecting a GoDAM account (an API key) does not switch it on.

2. Only while someone is using one of these screens in the WordPress admin. Once an administrator allows it, it covers everyone who uses these screens on the site, not only that administrator. It is never sent for visitors to your site.

3. An administrator can turn it off at any time with “Help us improve GoDAM” on the GoDAM Help page, and that choice is kept, including when an API key is saved. It stops from the next page load.

PostHog’s code also loads its own settings and scripts from us-assets.i.posthog.com, at the same times as the data above is sent.
