About this plugin

Clanfront turns WordPress into a dark, modern website for a gaming clan, guild or esports team:

  • Homepage with a banner (image or video), your logo, a mission statement and a “Join us” button
  • About page with your history, values, games and achievements
  • Roster with roles, medals and links to each member’s socials and stats
  • Game pages with cover, description, who plays it, matches and servers, plus a Game Graveyard for retired games
  • Match schedule and results with a win/loss record, a filter per game, “Add to calendar” and a calendar feed you can subscribe to
  • Recruitment: a built-in application form with spam protection, an inbox in the admin, email notifications and a status for each applicant. Or link to Google Forms or Typeform instead
  • Code of conduct page
  • Gallery of screenshots and highlight clips
  • Hall of Shame for the clan’s finest friendly-fire moments, with embedded clips
  • History timeline of the clan’s milestones
  • Optional “Support us” button (Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi, PayPal…)
  • Game servers with a one-click “Copy IP” button
  • Discord invite button and live widget
  • Optional “Live now” and “Offline” tags for members who stream on Twitch
  • Latest Twitch videos: the clan channel’s on the homepage and each member’s on their own page
  • Optional single-elimination tournament brackets. Hidden from visitors until you switch them on
  • Works with any theme

An example clan with members, matches, a server, gallery pictures, games, medals, Hall of Shame entries and history is created on activation, so you can see everything working straight away.

External services

Everything below is off or optional. Nothing is loaded from any outside service until you set it up.

  • Discord widget (discord.com): when you enter a Server ID, the Discord widget is shown in an iframe loaded from discord.com. Visitors’ browsers contact Discord. Privacy policy: https://discord.com/privacy
  • Video embeds (YouTube, Vimeo, Streamable and other providers WordPress supports): when a Hall of Shame entry has a clip link, WordPress asks that provider for the player once a week, and the player is loaded from the provider in visitors’ browsers. Only the links you entered are used. Each provider’s own privacy policy applies, for example YouTube: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Twitch (id.twitch.tv and api.twitch.tv): when you enter a Twitch Client ID and secret, your site asks the Twitch API which of your members’ channels are live and, unless you switch it off under Settings, for the latest videos of the clan channel and each member’s channel. The channel names you entered are sent to Twitch together with your keys. Live status is saved for two minutes and the video lists for an hour. Video thumbnails are loaded by visitors’ browsers from Twitch’s image server (static-cdn.jtvnw.net). Terms: https://www.twitch.tv/p/legal/terms-of-service/ Privacy: https://www.twitch.tv/p/legal/privacy-notice/

Privacy

The application form saves what an applicant writes (in-game name, age, region, game, rank, experience, Discord name or email, and their answer to “why join”) in your site’s database and emails it to you. It does not set cookies and uses no outside spam service. The plugin supports WordPress’s personal data export and erase tools for applications with an email address.
