Start with the content you already have

Connect your WordPress website so your agent can use its public pages, posts and other public content. Changes are picked up automatically, helping your agent stay aligned with your website. You can also add documents and other business information in Chat4U.

Use the public content you already publish in different languages, choose a response style that suits your business, and customize your agent’s appearance. Choose when to show it as part of the same setup in Chat4U. You can turn native placement off later in WordPress settings.

Optional WooCommerce assistance

WordPress users, comments, form submissions, drafts, private and password-protected posts are excluded from public content synchronization. Private order assistance is separate and requires current native sign-in or a verified guest grant for one order; it does not import order history into the public source. Only content independently accessible without login is admitted. Membership software, multilingual plugins, builders, caching and security plugins can affect accessibility; check coverage in Chat4U. WordPress Multisite and headless installations are currently unsupported. Where enabled in Chat4U and allowed in these native settings, WooCommerce assistance adds public products to the same source, checks live product details, changes the existing native cart after shopper authorization, applies/removes shopper-provided coupons, and hands payment to native checkout. Unsupported product requirements stay in the store. Bookings are not included.

External service

This plugin connects your website to the Chat4U online service. It requires a Chat4U account and an eligible subscription, managed directly with Chat4U. There is no separate subscription billed through WordPress.

You choose when to connect. During setup, the plugin sends your website’s identity, addresses and temporary connection details to Chat4U so you can confirm the correct account and project. After you confirm, Chat4U reads public website content and checks for changes. Connection credentials are stored in WordPress and encrypted in Chat4U; they are not included in public website scripts.

WordPress user accounts, comments, existing form submissions, WooCommerce orders, drafts, private pages and password-protected posts are not imported. Public custom fields are included only when Chat4U can verify that they are publicly available.

When you enable the assistant, visitors’ browsers connect to Chat4U to load it and send their messages. If you enable contact capture, submitted contact details are also sent to Chat4U under your configured privacy notice and consent settings. Review those settings and update your website’s privacy policy before showing the assistant. Suggested wording is available in WordPress’s privacy tools.

Optional WooCommerce data and controls

Cart tokens stay in encrypted temporary plugin storage. Chat4U receives opaque expiring handles and minimized cart or authorized order results. Guest order number, email and six-digit verification code are sent directly to this store; its configured mail provider sends the code. Codes expire in ten minutes, permit five attempts and enforce a 60-second resend interval. One verified guest order is available for ten minutes; a separate private-answer proof lasts 60 seconds. Dedicated verification fields do not enter Chat4U prompts or durable chat history. Minimized authorized order results may enter the configured model for the current answer, with neutral durable history afterward.

Optional purchase measurement defaults off. A supported active WP Consent API/Complianz setup, known consent type and explicit recorded Allow are required. Native checkout correlation is separate from confirmed payment/refund evidence. Cart or checkout clicks do not prove payment. Turning measurement off freezes historical totals and may leave later refunds unreflected. Visitor withdrawal removes attribution while retaining necessary minimized uncertain-action deduplication records. WordPress privacy tools support export/erasure of this plugin’s metadata; they do not delete the underlying order.

Expiry denies use independently of cleanup. Authenticated service control and native scheduling/request hooks run bounded local cleanup, including when content updates are paused or the Knowledge source was removed. If the plugin is unreachable or removed without its hooks, Chat4U cannot verify physical deletion on the merchant’s host. Unresolved sending/unknown action identifiers and hashes remain non-executable evidence after secret payload expiry.

Current installed qualification uses WordPress 7.1.3, WooCommerce 11.2.1, PHP8.2, WP Consent API2.1.0 and Complianz7.5.6. This is not a compatibility guarantee for every theme, extension, consent manager or payment gateway. Legal-publication and release qualification must be complete before customer enablement.
