YouTube to Article

v1.6.1 · by StartupHub.ai

Turn your YouTube channel into a traffic engine.

About this plugin

Most sites just embed a video. Google can’t cite an embed. AI assistants can’t cite an embed. YouTube to Article turns every video into a full, indexable WordPress post that ranks.

Paste any YouTube link in the editor sidebar and get a complete draft in seconds – or connect a YouTube channel and auto-create drafts every time a new video drops.

Built for publishers, news sites, and creators who want their videos to work twice: once on YouTube, once on Google.

ONE CLICK FROM VIDEO TO RANKABLE ARTICLE

Just paste a YouTube link in the Gutenberg sidebar and hit Generate article. No switching tabs, no copy-paste transcripts.

Every post comes ready for Yoast SEO and Rank Math:

  • SEO title, meta description & focus keyphrase – auto-filled
  • Automatic tags for better organization
  • Key Takeaways block under the video (optional)
  • FAQ block at the end with FAQPage schema (optional)
  • Video pinned at top or as featured image – social shares still use the YouTube thumbnail

SEO THAT’S ACTUALLY BUILT FOR VIDEO

  • VideoObject JSON-LD on every single post – so Google understands it’s a video post
  • FAQPage JSON-LD when you use the FAQ block
  • BlogPosting + BreadcrumbList + meta description if you don’t use Yoast/Rank Math
  • Clean HTML – not AI spam. You control voice and length.

Voice: Dynamic (matches the speaker), Neutral, Analytical, Conversational
Length: Dynamic (as long as needed), Short ~500 words, Medium ~800, Long ~1200
Plus: Add your own custom writing prompt with brand rules.

INTERNAL LINKS THAT USE YOUR REAL GOOGLE DATA

We don’t add random links. After writing, we add 1-4 smart internal links to your own posts and tag pages.

Connect Google Search Console (1 click) and we rank your internal link targets using your actual queries, clicks, impressions and position. So you push link equity to posts Google already loves.

You can also add a list of “always consider” URLs – perfect for pushing affiliate pages or money pages.

CHANNEL WATCH: AUTO-POST YOUTUBE VIDEOS TO WORDPRESS

Add any YouTube channel URL. Choose check interval: every 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, or daily.

Set default author, category, and Draft or Auto-Publish.

In Draft mode, you get an instant email or Telegram notification on your phone with two links: Publish / Skip. Skip can trash the draft if you don’t want it.

Perfect for: Auto blog from YouTube channel, news sites covering YouTubers, video podcasts as articles.

Requires Pro Mini ($5/mo on StartupHub.AI).

VIDEO ANALYTICS THAT RESPECTS CONSENT

On posts with pinned video, we load the YouTube IFrame API and send real engagement to GA4:
video_start, video_progress at 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, video_complete

Works with gtag.js or dataLayer. If WP Consent API is active, events wait for consent. No data sent to StartupHub.AI.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Install & activate – try 3 articles free (under 2 hours, no account)
  2. In any post editor, open the YouTube to Article sidebar, paste a link, click Generate article
  3. Edit the draft and publish. Channel watch will do this for you automatically.

External services

This plugin uses the StartupHub.AI service at https://www.startuphub.ai/api/v1/ to write articles and to watch YouTube channels. Nothing is sent until you click Generate, a sign-in or connect button, or save settings.

  • Generate: The request carries your API key as a Bearer token, the YouTube URL you pasted, your writing prompt and whether to pin the video. A first call asks for the transcript. A second call sends that transcript with the video title and channel name so the service can write the article. Nothing is sent until you click Generate.
  • Internal links: A third call sends the draft HTML plus ranked candidate URLs from this site, including published articles, tag archives and any extra URLs you listed, so the service can insert internal links. That call does not write a new article, and if it fails the draft stays unlinked.
  • Settings and channels: When you save settings or add a channel, the plugin sends your site URL, inbound secret, notify email, default author and category, and the YouTube URL you entered. StartupHub.AI uses that data to register the site and watch that channel. The plugin also asks for recent job status and any drafts that did not arrive and creates those posts locally. Linking Telegram only runs if you click Link Telegram.
  • Trial and sign in: Try 3 articles free sends this site’s URL. Sign in with Google and Unlock channels send this site’s URL and a return URL under wp-admin. They open startuphub.ai so you can sign in and optionally pick a plan, then return you to the settings screen where the plugin fetches this site’s key once. Both actions only run when you click them.
  • Search Console: Connect Search Console only runs if you click it. It sends your site URL and a return URL under wp-admin. Google asks you to approve read-only Search Console access. StartupHub.AI stores the token for that API key and later fetches query and page rows to rank internal links. Disconnect removes the token. If Search Console is not connected here but Site Kit by Google or Rank Math already stored Search Console data on this site, that local data can be used to rank internal links.
  • Finished posts: StartupHub.AI may push a finished article to this site at /wp-json/afyt/v1/inbound. That request is signed with the inbound secret stored in settings.
  • YouTube: On generated posts that pin the YouTube video, visitors load the YouTube IFrame API at https://www.youtube.com/iframe_api so play progress can be sent to Google Analytics on this site. That script only loads on those posts and sends no video data to StartupHub.AI. On the settings page only, your browser may load small channel icons from youtube.com or Google’s favicon service and video thumbnails from i.ytimg.com.
  • Steem: The settings page has an optional link to steem.dev. Nothing is sent until you click it.
