ARN Smart Image Optimizer

ARN Smart Image Optimizer converts your JPG and PNG images to WebP or AVIF on your own server and serves the optimized copies to visitors. Original images are never changed.

Conversion runs in the background: new uploads are converted after WordPress has saved them, and existing images are converted by a bulk job that you can pause, resume or cancel. Image processing runs fully locally and does not need an account or any external service.

ARN Smart WebPix is the Pro version, available on arnsmart.com. It adds, among others: WebP and AVIF together, quality presets, picture-tag delivery, CSS background and builder image delivery, LCP and image dimension tools, advanced media folders, cloud storage, watermarks and AI media tools.

If ARN Smart WebPix is active and licensed on the same site, this plugin pauses itself (no conversion, no delivery, no Media Library column or folder panel, no entry under Settings > ARN Free AI) and says so on its dashboard. Its settings, copies and folders are kept, and it continues when the Pro version is no longer active.

External services

Image conversion, delivery and media folders run on your own server and use no external service.

ARN Free AI (Settings > ARN Free AI). The plugin bundles ARN Free AI, the shared AI settings screen of ARN Free plugins. ARN Smart Image Optimizer itself sends no images, no AI requests and no site data to any AI provider, and it does not contact any ARN server. Only when a site administrator chooses a provider on that screen and clicks “Test connection” (one short fixed test prompt, no site content) or “Load models” (the provider’s model list) is a request sent, with the administrator’s own API key, to that provider only, at that moment. The API key is stored encrypted in the WordPress database. No data is sent to any other provider.
