007AJ SMTP Mailer

v1.0.7 · by 007AJ.com

Make WordPress email arrive: send through any SMTP account with one-click presets, a setup wizard and a test tool that explains errors.

About this plugin

Many web servers cannot send email reliably, so password resets, orders and contact form messages land in spam or never arrive. 007AJ SMTP Mailer sends WordPress email through a real email account instead.

Features

  • Other SMTP with presets: Fastmail, Gmail (app password), Outlook.com, Yahoo, Zoho, iCloud, Office 365 / GoDaddy and cPanel hosting mailboxes.
  • Default PHP mail fallback.
  • From Email and From Name with “force” options, Return-Path set to the From Email, optional default Reply-To.
  • Test email with a plain-English diagnosis of failures and an SMTP debug transcript with passwords masked.
  • The last 20 sending errors under Tools.
  • Passwords encrypted at rest (libsodium, OpenSSL fallback), never shown back in the browser, or defined in wp-config.php with AJSM_* constants.
  • Simple setup wizard.
  • How-to documentation inside your dashboard.
  • No tracking, nothing on the front end.

007AJ SMTP Mailer Pro (separate paid add-on)

Pro adds API mailers (Gmail / Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 / Outlook, SendGrid, Mailgun, Brevo, Postmark, Amazon SES, SMTP2GO, Resend), an email log with resend and CSV export (by default it stores only To, Subject, status, date, mailer and error, never the email body; saved bodies have reset links, keys and one-time codes redacted, and entries are deleted after 30 days by default), a backup connection, smart routing, failure alerts (email, Slack, Discord, Teams, webhook), a weekly summary, WordPress notification toggles and daily stats. The free plugin is fully functional on its own and nothing in it expires.

External services

007AJ SMTP Mailer connects only to the outgoing mail (SMTP) server that you enter in its settings, and only when WordPress sends an email or you send a test. It sends that server your SMTP username and password (to log in) and each email’s sender, recipients, subject, body, headers and attachments, which is necessary to deliver the email. The terms and privacy policy of the email provider you choose apply, for example:

  • Fastmail: https://www.fastmail.com/about/legal/terms-of-service/ and https://www.fastmail.com/about/legal/privacy/
  • Google (Gmail): https://policies.google.com/terms and https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Microsoft (Outlook.com, Office 365): https://www.microsoft.com/servicesagreement and https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
  • Yahoo: https://legal.yahoo.com/us/en/yahoo/terms/otos/index.html and https://legal.yahoo.com/us/en/yahoo/privacy/index.html
  • Zoho: https://www.zoho.com/terms.html and https://www.zoho.com/privacy.html
  • Apple (iCloud): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/icloud/ and https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

With “Default (PHP mail)” selected, email is handed to your server’s own mail system and the plugin makes no outbound connection. The plugin never contacts 007AJ and sends no usage data. Upgrade links are ordinary links that open only when you click them.

Privacy

The plugin stores your settings, your encrypted SMTP password and a list of the last 20 errors (date, mailer, recipient, subject and error text). It stores no email bodies and sets no cookies.
